Excited curiosity
Of the entire village at once
The markings of the brush and hand
They could not understand
A powerful new medicine
Awe and fear of the unknown dangerous
The women made a tremolo
To mourn the partial death of their chief
For in their minds the painting
Was a living part of the man
Captured by the magician

A man who can make a living person
Simply by staring at them
Could perhaps destroy this life
